Everyone loves coconut. It is used as source of food for both its water and meat. It also has many health benefits and it is used in a wide variety of health supplements. One popular coconut product is extra virgin coconut oil. This article will look at what it is, how it is made and what it is used for.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is created by harvesting fresh coconuts and using its meat which is called non-copra. Once the meat is taken from the coconut it is shredded. The shredded meat is then pressed so that you have the milk. The extracted milk is now left to ferment for a couple of days and it is during this time that the water and the oil begin to separate. The lighter water will settle at the top and the oil settles on the bottom. Usually the water is heated so that it can evaporate and leave the oil.

The extra virgin coconut oil often retains a nice coconut taste, and will smell like fresh coconut. It should be noted that the proper oil if in a solid state should melt in your hand because of your body heat. If this does not happen or if it does not become solid quickly, then you probably have bought an inferior type of extra virgin coconut oil. It should be noted that this product has a very long shelf life, sometimes up to two years. This means it lasts longer that other types of plant oils. This long shelf life means that the oil is able to retain its nutritional value for a very long time.

Extra virgin coconut oil has many different health benefits that are associated with it. Typically if you take the oil on a regular basis then you can expect to see a reduction in your cholesterol levels. It has also been noted that the coconut oil will help to improve your intestinal tract, control your blood sugar levels, and give you good immune support. It is also known to affect the body where it can improve digestion, allow the nutrients to be absorbed into the body properly and help support a healthy metabolic function. This is jus a few of the health benefits that are associated with the use of this product.
